Privacy Policy

What we collect

Your email and password when you sign up. Your password is never stored in readable form — it is hashed by our database provider, Supabase. Nobody, including us, can read it back.
Your name, if you give one.
The ideas you submit and the assessments Synorigin generates for you.
Feedback you choose to send. This goes to a private inbox and is not attached to your account automatically.

How your ideas are handled

Synorigin uses Anthropic's Claude API on a paid commercial account — not a free consumer tier. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, your inputs and outputs are not used to train their models. Your idea is processed to produce your result, and that is all.

To find comparable existing work, Synorigin also runs a live web search based on your idea. Search terms drawn from your idea may be sent to a search provider as part of that process.

We do not sell or share your submitted ideas. We do not use them to train anything.

Files you attach

If you attach an image or PDF, it is sent for processing to generate your assessment. We do not keep a permanent copy of the file itself.

Where your data lives

Accounts and saved chats are stored with Supabase. Access is restricted at the database level so that you can only ever read your own data — this is enforced by the database itself, not just by the app's design.

Who is responsible for your data

Synorigin is the responsible party for the personal information described here. For any question, correction, or request about your data — or any other feedback — email hello.synorigin@gmail.com.

Where your data goes

Your data does not stay in South Africa. Accounts and saved chats are stored with Supabase, and ideas are processed by Anthropic's Claude API — both of which operate servers outside the country. This is a cross-border transfer of personal information. Both providers are bound by their own contractual data-protection commitments, which is the basis on which we use them. If you are not comfortable with your idea being processed outside South Africa, please do not submit it.

Your control

Delete any saved chat at any time.
Delete your whole account and its data from Settings. This is permanent.
Ask what personal information we hold about you, and request a copy of it. Email the address above and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.

If you are unhappy with how we handled your data

Email us first — we would rather fix it directly. You also have the right, under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa. You do not need our permission to do that.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, we will make a reasonable effort to tell users before it takes effect.
